Pressures and stresses of modern day living can cause lasting damage to our health. As a means of coping with this we are a group of people who come together to spend 20 minutes in shared silence. We are welcomed with a hot/cold drink and there is an opportunity afterwards to talk and discuss anything of relevant interest concerning the practice and benefits of the exercise.

The objectives of the group were established at the inaugural meeting-“to look at the socio/economic and cultural aspects of today’s world, with a healthy exchange of information and debate that is non political and non polemic”. This wide remit offers the opportunity for a flexible approach whilst holding loosely to a seminar style format. Meeting is formally chaired, with a volunteer (member) speaker on an agreed subject followed by debate and discussion. Recent examples of subjects are;  Age Matters, Are Our Freedoms in Danger, and After the Budget.
